Hello there! My name is Savannah. I'm a new mom, textile designer, weaver, sewer, fabric and yarn hoarder, writer, photographer, wanna-be-baker...and whatever else I decide to be today. As long as I'm working on something creative- whether it's a new weaving, making a handmade sash for my sister's wedding dress, pulling fabrics together for pillows, or baking a loaf of bread- I'm content!
My first love (aside from my wonderful husband...) is textiles. My fine arts degree in textile design has greatly influenced Savannah's Sunshine Shop. My appreciation and knowledge of craft, detail, and color can be seen in all of the items I make, from the handmade fabric flowers to the handwoven scarves.
And what's with the name? I came up with the idea for my shop on a rainy Seattle day. Something you may already know about Seattle winters? It rains, and rains...and rains. If I could have a shop that sold sunshine, I would make a fortune! Because I can't really bottle sunshine, I thought the next best thing would be handmade, one of a kind items that would 'brighten up' people's lives. What better than a warm, cheerful scarf on a cloudy day?!
Custom and commisioned work? Of course! I'm always excited to grow as an artist and designer and I'm not afraid to try new things. I enjoy working with people on custom items so please do not hesitate to email me. Let's work together to bring your idea to life!
